Why Cyclotron can not accelerate neutron ?

Q: Cyclotrons cannot accelerate neutrons . Why ?

Solution : Cyclotrons work on the principle of Lorentz force. A particle can experience a Lorentz force only if it is charged. Neutrons being uncharged are not accelerated by a cyclotron. Cyclotron is most suitable to accelerate positively charged particles like protons,  etc.
